When you are selling under someone else's brand you have to give money to the brand owner just for using the name. You do the hard work to make money, yet the brand owners claim money for just for the use of brand name.

The only advantage of franchising is that the brand may have gained recognition and it will make your business seamless.
Yeah, I think it is a very good idea for business people that have money because it will make the whole process smooth. A lot of businesses always consider it because of how seamless it is.

Some of the disadvantages of franchising include
1. Lack of independence and creative opportunities because you must comply with the franchise rules and regulations.
2. High initial set up cost.
3. You have to pay for the royalty fee.

For me franchising seems very costly and time wasting. This is because one is required to pay other people for using their brands. Also getting the clients under someone's brand seems very challenging.

The disadvantage of franchising is the lack of control from the franchisor over his own business, because usually everything is controlled by a central franchisor system. Franchise business buyers may not just look for their own raw materials, determine other products to be sold apart from those determined by the central system, set their own prices, and so on.

The only disadvantage that I can see when franchising a business is the restriction of doing other marketing strategies. The products cannot be changed or created new ones if having this franchise agreement.

I think it can cost a lot of money for you to set up a franchise. And as someone have stated, you must also stick to the franchise rules and regulations which may not be favorable to you.
