you must build a lot of contacts if you really want to be successful selling things on WhatsApp. you need several people to be viewing your status especially those in your locality if you want to sell veggies.
Selling vegetables and fruits on WhatsApp is possible by creating a catalog of the products you have available, setting prices, and sharing it with potential customers.
Yeah, You can create a group for this and you can also build your contacts so that whenever you post anything on your status they will see it. But it must be people within your vicinity.
Same thing experience in my country as well. Why would I order veggies on whatsapp when I can simply get it in my area very cheaply and timely?.

The highest you can do through WhatsApp in this kind of business is you taking orders from customers. Someone contact you that they need some fruits, then you would go and supply. Which means your Whatsapp would be used for mainly advertising and booking.
This is the first time am hearing about this business model. In Nigeria, there is abundance of fruits and veggies, why should I order what is readily available around me? I don't see how this business will be profitable and successful.
if you are doing such a business you must be extremely careful because vegetables and fruits are perishable products. You can still have a physical store and also use WhatsApp to advertise.
