I actually own a poultry business and I will tell you that is a very lucrative business especially when there is a celebration that is coming up which helps to improve sales.
It is a very profitable Investment because larger population in my country eats chicken.
To note that we the Jollibee food chain in the Philippines. Selling of chicken is very profitable. Aside from Jollibee, we McDonald's and KFC and other local brands that sell fried chicken. So imagine how much money the supplier can get on a daily basis.
Fast food restaurants have made chickens to be expensive. Now, a life chicken cost close to $20 and the price use to rise during festive periods. In most Nigerians home, if you did not buy life chicken during festive periods, it seems you are one of the poorest. Lol

I like native chicken. But I seldom find here in my place people selling native chicken. It has firm meat and Iike to cook it with coco milk. It's a good business.
A lot of people have serious health challenges that they are not allowed to eat red meat which is why they will only consume white meat and it's chicken and turkey. It helps the business to sell well.
The chicken business in my country is very profitable because the target market is very broad and can reach all groups. Both sold in raw and cooked conditions are equally profitable. I personally often consume chicken at least 2-3 times a week. I often buy raw chicken to cook myself.
Without painting anything, chicken is a luxury in my country for most people. Notwithstanding, the business is very profitable. I am into it and I can testify that.

I am a stakeholder in the poultry value chain and I can tell you that it is not the fast foods that are the cause of hike in the price of poultry products. This one is more cultural. Even the government doesn't have much blame here.
