I had used the paid marketing before by boosting for two days. On my next boost I miss heck the box and they're charging it to my card. My credit card company rejected the bill and I stopped or else I would be charged unlimited. I did not boost my ads again.

That's a really bad experience. By the way, did you have any conversion by using the boost feature on Facebook? I mean did you have any sales, did you recover your ad budget?
I had one inquiry but never made any sale so I never recovered the advertising costs.
I no longer use Facebook to market my products, because the high cases of buying and selling fraud via Facebook make me uncomfortable there. I am more comfortable using the marketplace as a third party that guarantees transaction security.
Anyone can actually use Facebook, you can run both paid and free ads, but the free ads might not be as effective compared to the sales the paid ads will generate for you, so I think paid ads is more recommend and also very effective.
When it comes to Facebook marketing, i do not really make use of it that much, but i have used their free marketing to promote my business, the results was not that impressive though, i believe the paid one would be more effective.
