A friend was yesterday describing how a particular hospitality business has chosen to brand its assets so as to discourage people (including employees) from stealing the same. This business has noted that most thieves have no qualms stealing and using illegally acquired items. Accordingly, the business has adopted a strategy of writing the following words on various items that could be stolen: 'stolen from X', where X is the brand name of the business.

What are your thoughts about this strategy?
Does it qualify as creative labeling?

This is where branding comes into play. Most companies do not mind stealing your idea to use as their own. Which is why it is extremely important that you business goes through the right channel in registering the business. So you can take legal actions when someone steals or copy your idea.

There is a way you can brand and package your products and it is practically impossible for someone to copy and make imitation. That is the place of creative labeling of products.

Other business owners does not mind stealing other business ideas whether lebelling or not. The Best bet is to make your things legal by registering them so that you protect them from others usage.
