Automating barber business

The tasks performed by a barber are fairly standard. It could thus be argued that the work of a barber could be automated. The recent advancements in AI technology indicate that such arguments may not be farfetched.

In your view, how easy is it for AI-driven automation to take over the work that is currently performed by barbers?

Well there is no denying the fact that it is very possible for this to happen, but honestly i do not think i would be willing to trust a bot to cut my hair.

It is possible with time. Machine learning ensures that an AI learns a particular task and coupled with algorithms, be able to replicate that task. AI are already sowing. For automation of barbing, it is just a matter of time.

It is possible that an AI bot can do the job in the near future. But I personally prefer a human hair stylist to cut my hair. I enjoy interacting with my hair stylist.

Barbers are actually doing a good job because it is not easy to give someone a good haircut making them look handsome or beautiful depending on who it is that is patronizing the barber.

I understand your point of view. It is scary to imagine what would happen if an AI powered robot mistakes a person's ears for hair, for example. Many customers would thus choose to have their hair cut by such robot.

I have seen this level of technology used in sci-fi movies. It's something that's capable of happening. It's only time that's going to make it happen.

Same here i prefer a human to do my hair, besides the interaction part, i just feel i am in a safer hand with a human than to actually use a bot. These ai do not have any emotions in the first place.

You can automate your barbing saloon by instituting online booking for haircut sessions. You can also use a shop software to run your inventory management system. For an AI doing the hair cut, it is possible but would take time to get to that point.
