There is nothing in retaining top talents than offering a good pay, good working conditions and an opportunity for career growth and expansion. When you have these three variables in place, you would be able to keep the top talents in your company.
The way I retain top talent when I am a business owner is to treat them well, look out for their well-being, give them bonuses, or awards. Invite casual talk in private.
Top talents take a lot to keep because other business organizations would surely be after them. You have to go the extra mile to make them loyal to your company and this can only be achieved by looking out for their welfare.
To retain top talents, you have to offer them a competitive salary and good fringe benefits. Provide a nice working environment and offer good prospects for career advancement. And, do not forget to treat them with respect.
When you identify staff with rare skills and abilities, you should do your best to keep them by prioritizing their welfare above all. When an organization loses those kind of staff, it is always practically difficult if not impossible to find them again.

True, even when they are not holding any major position in the business, their absence would definitely be noticed and would affect the work flow of the business for a period of time.
