How do you apologize to your customers when something goes wrong?

In business there are times where and when things might not turn out the way you have planned. It could be a faulty goods or delay in production. How do you normally apologize to your customers? There are does who do this by giving them a discount, others give them a free gift while there are some who ask them not to pay for the goods.

You look for ways you can get to the customers to show your apology. For those you can tell them verbally you can send them an apology email. Let them know how sorry you are and promise not to repeat same.

I think it also depends on what kind of problem they face I think if the problem is huge and the thing they bought is not working like it is supposed to they need to get a refund

In the business world making mistake is a common and expected thing, and some times business owners maid mistake and make mad their customers, and in order to apologize business owners will give some good offers on their products, and give some free goods and free products, and also a discount in order to show them out sorry they are.

sincee most of these occurrence are not planned, you just need to explain to them the reason behind your decision and this must be done at the right time and should not be procrastinated .

Just simply say "sorry: for it was not meant to be. Then promise not to do the same mistake again in the future that is if the customer is convinced and comes back.

For me as a businessman, when the seller has done wrong to the customers, there must be something attached to the apology. For instance you can giveaways for that matter in favour of the apology.

There are many ways to show our apologetic action though giving special discount or a memento to pacify and calm down the feelings of the customer who felt insulted in the business center.

Replacing the product, giving as partial refund, giving huge discounts on their purchases are some of the strategies I use while apologizing my customers when something goes wrong in the last sale.
