When you are running a business it is good to make your prices the same as your competitors. This act comes with it own benefits. Even making it way cheaper is no bad idea but you would be at a vantage point if you make the pricing competition. The reasons as follows

Little to zero rate of choosing competitors ptoducts

since the rate are same, customers would not choose your competitors' products over your own

Creation of large market share

With competitive pricing you would be able to maintain and build your market share

Customers retention
Consumers will be less likely to move from your products, services or business

Competitive prices in business are very important to realize business success. Because a price that is too low will make customers doubt the quality of the product, a price that is too high will also make customers leave us. So it is very important to research the prices prevailing on the market for similar products, then set a price that is the same or slightly lower than it, but the difference should not be too great.

By the virtue of setting the selling prices to be competitive you could be bringing the sense of balance on the price comparison among the businesses and giving the customers opportunities to choose on where to buy.

Before selecting a price for my products or services, I always make sure I find out how much others in the same field are charging their customers first. This enables me to set mine on a reasonable price.

If you want to sell for premium price you will have to sell to the niche market. If yo want to sell in the mass market, you will have to use competitive pricing to attract price conscious customers.
