There is an incident that happened in my country. A Twitter user posted a negative review of a particular packaged tin tomato brand. After some few days, the lady was arrested by the police in connection with the review and the company has vowed to sue her.

I don't know if there are laws that allow a business to sue a customer for a public negative review in your country. From your opinion, is It right for a business or a company to sue a customer for a bad public review about it?

That's injustice that victim must hire a lawyer. It happened here in my clingy one canned good was punished on Facebook because of the bad content. The person was rearrested but the court ordered the canned good company to compensate the complainant. In your country different it's injustice.

To be fair, I don't think it is right to call out a brand like that on social media. I think it would have been best to contact support and hear from them. If they failed to listen to you or give you a satisfactory redress, you can call them out on social media.

Calling out a brand like that on social media can entirely bring the brand down.

I think it depends. Everyone has a right to express themselves and say what they want but the most important thing is that they have evidence. In a situation like this it depends on what the person said and most importantly if it is actually true. The person would need a good lawyer though.

No, every business owners can't use their customers for any advertisements without the customers approval and wellbeing, other wise the customer will sue the business owner and will get a huge amount of money for that.

In my country you can advertise any thing using your customer without their notice or agreement to do the advertisements, if you see your self as a main character in advertisements without any agreement you can sue them and get good money from it.

The customer has a right to publicly express his or her thoughts about your business and products whether negative or positive. We have consumer protection council that would deal with such a business to the highest level.

Yes the customer has the right to say their mind about about a product, but i think the company can only sue a person if they spread negative news that are not true about the company. Then it can be seen as defaming.

If a customer drops a public review about your business, you should rather check if the reviews is true. Rather than making the issue bigger by pressing charges.
