Do you inform your customers before increasing price?

An incident happened a few days back, where I normally do some of my printing, due to the cost of things and the current economy, they increased their price. While this is understandable, a lot of customers where extremely angry, and their major reason was that they did not get any notice before the increase. Do you normally notify your customers before increasing your price?

There is no need to inform the customers, that is absurd. Increasing the process also depends on the suggested retail or wholesale prices. There is uniformity of pricing. There is no business owner that would tell price increases. They will not come back.

If it is possible, you inform. If it is not, you get to explain to them when they ask. I know some businesses like schools inform parents before they raise school fees.

I do not think that they need to know before increasing the prices. Besides, they will know if their country's economy is not good, it is expected that the commodities' prices will increase automatically.

I was working for multi national company and yes whenever there was a price increase circulars were sent to the selling team so that they could inform those buyers who were under them.

Agree my friend it's not happening in our country. We only learned of the increase of prices the time we buy. It's also our common sense that tells us why having such increase.

And sometimes we don't come to know that the price of a thing has increased, we buy things in bulk.

I would probably not since most stores don't inform me about it. Maybe if I have some subscription model with lower number of customers I would send email and give them option to quit contract.
