I think age matters for success. It is not possible to see a 25 year old man in a CEO position (only exception to this is when his father owns the business). Even to make money, age is often seen as a significant factor. Can a 50 years old man work as hard as a 30 years old man? While some individuals achieve financial success in their later years, a lot of successful people have found success before they are too old. Even when someone becomes very successful in old age, that is the result of hard work in the early age.

I think it depends on the mindset of the person regardless of age. There are young people lives care free and only demand for a change in their later years. Others succeed, others not

A lot of people have the right mindset, yet they don't work hard enough or cannot work hard to become successful. For example, in your early days, you might have to work 12-13 hours, can you work long hours if you are already in 50s.

I think that depends on the industry you are working in. I noted that in my place, many successful people in the hi-tech, investment banking industry are in their 30s. For traditional banking business, most of the people holding senior positions are in the late 40s or 50s.

In the internet sector, I definitely feel that age matters, because government agencies, tech and internet companies are definitely discriminating against older people. They are falsely giving lazy greedy young people credit, government salaries for the work which older people do.

It is very important to note that age contribute to one's success sometimes because it improve our experience but it is not a yardstick to achieving success in all our endeavours.
