It seems good to manage a local business to mean selling products locally made. However, as per observation and face to face interview I've made to some people in the nearest community, people tend to prioritize imported products because the local products are expensive than the local products. There are only few imported products like shampoo, toothpaste displayed most of the displays are from local. When I conducted a brief survey in the other community, majority prefer local products because of safety measures.

It is best to manage local products because we know well how they are processed and handled. Those who will harm the products will be investigated and if found guilty, the jail is ready for that person, unlike the imported products. They are like virtual products.
In my place, the situation is a bit different. We have many imported products. Their quality is good and the price is reasonable. It appears that imported products have a competitive advantage here.
Chinese products are cheap, therefore, a lot of people especially a low income people tend to favor Chinese products. However, European and American products are expensive and low income people avoid these products.
Yes over here, we still have similar issue. Most of our products are usually imported, I think we rely too much on importation rather than our own local products and it seems people now trust these imported products more than our local ones.
It is best to purchase local products. In this manner, we can help the locals gain some profit and live a normal life. However, it was not that easy. There are so many popular products that outshine them because of what they are well-known for. We need to be vigilant when purchasing certain products, either locally or internationally.
Same thing is happening in my country. Even with the cost of shipping, imported products sell more because they are cheaper than local products.

People need people and not all people are capable of doing a business even small because of some factors like poverty, however, they have their personal needs that can't be neglected, so they will be your customers in your local business, Love them and offer to them your honest services.
