I am for social media like Facebook to do chatting for work, business, and other matters. It is safe and free. Why should I use other sites? Though there are many free sites like Skype, I still prefer FB.

I use Facebook messanger for chatting with my friends and family, however, I used whatsapp, telegram and discord for professional communication.

Facebook Messenger, for example, is what I prefer over the messaging app that is pre-installed on the phone for messaging. As I only need a wireless connection to send and receive messages, it is more economical.

I must say that it has been a long time since I sent SMS through a messaging app. As you mentioned, it is quite expensive. I only use it when I need to contact some people urgently. Although I prefer calling to sending SMS.
