I think it is common to make wrong decision based on your assumptions. I have done it multiple times

Absolutely, I've made poor choices in the past stemming from unfounded assumptions. There were times I jumped to conclusions without all the facts, influenced by preconceived notions or incomplete information. This faulty logic led me down the wrong path, wasting time and effort.
