Why do people reneged on agreement

I think one reason may be the person has not given careful consideration to some issues when signing the agreement. Another reason could be s(he) has found a better deal.
People sometimes back out of agreements for reasons like changing circumstances, hidden information coming to light, or simply having second thoughts. In my own case, if I ever reneged, it was likely due to new factors arising that made the original agreement no longer viable or advisable. However, I always aim to carefully consider commitments before making them to avoid breaking promises unnecessarily.
Most people renege on agreement because they never really understood what the agreement was about when they entered into it.
Some people always renege on agreement simply because they did not understand the details of the agreement when they signed.
