In my country, the train is available only for the transportation services from the coast to the capital city a five and a half hours trip by the standard gauge railway. I don't slumber on the way because of the excitement for the exploration of the wild animals like the elephants, zebras, hyenas, lions and many others.

I have travelled long distance by train and not just dozed off but also slept in the train
I have always dozed off when travelling on anything depending on the circumstances that I find myself per time. If I am too tired, it is easy for me to doze off on transit.
I have traveled long distance train when I visited China years back. I seldom dozed off because the scenery was beautiful, and I found the journey exciting.
