From my understanding, Vietnam is generally considered a safe country for travelers and expatriates. Violent crime rates are relatively low, especially when compared to some other popular tourist destinations.
I have traveled to Vietnam once. My impression is it is a safe place though a bit backward. I love Vietnamese food and the people in general are quite friendly.
I have never been there so I do not have a personal experience,but if research says so, then am guessing it's true. Though at the same time one still has to be careful.
Well, I have not been to Vietnam and based on my reading, I believe Vietnam is a safe country for tourists. But it is better to become conscious while traveling
