Usually, there is a donation box in every funeral chapel here in my country. Whoever visit the funeral, they can give any amount of money. In our country, it is the family responsibility to bear the cost of funeral rites. If the person cannot pay for the rites, his relatives will arrange the expenses.
This is common in my country, especially the countryside. There are times that government officials give donations, too.We don't do this in the community where I stay, they can only ask you if you have to contribute or not.
I have never done this before but it is usually done in my community and this is amongst the elderly people so I feel I have no business with it for nowIn my community we normally conduct contributions for the funeral arrangements in case one of us has left. What about you?
