I met someone some time back who said, when applying for a job, the First thing the company sees is your resume, meaning the first impression they get from you is through your resume, so to draw their attention, your resume has a huge role to play. The second thing they see during the interview stage is your appearance. Companies these days are after the image of their company, having someone who is smart, good resume and good appearance is a sure win for them. Before going for an interview, take out time to find out the kind of dress style is acceptable in the company.

Interview and dressing is directly related with each other. I have given so many interviews and while I was working as Regional sales Manager south I took more than 50 interviews, while taking one interview the candidate given excellent answers but his dressing was very poor my senior rejected him due to his dressing.

I can imagine. I have heard of similar cases like this as well. There are some positions where the company is mostly after their image and not just your brains. For such positions they tend to focus more on your appearance.
