Should a business organization suspend a staff on the accusation of a sexual scandal?

Business organizations value their reputations so much and won't want anything to spoil it.

Supposing a staff of a business organization is accused of being involved in a sexual assault, is it right for the organization to suspend such a staff to protect it's reputation?

It should also be noted that the accusation is from external sources not related to work.
If you were a boss, would you suspend such a staff?

As far the scandal won't in any way affect my business, I don't mind allowing e employee to continue his or her duty, business is for making money and not a worship center or seminary, so business still goes on.

If an employee is involved in a sex scandal which is publicly reported in the media, I would suspend his/her employment while the authority is conducting investigation. If s(he) is proved innocent, I'll reinstate his/her employment.

It could be a bit harsh when you suspend the staff and he is later found innocent. It would really affect his psyche that the organization he is working for cannot stand up for him. That is one side of the argument though n

It is in the best interest of the company for the staff to stand down and face investigations. It brings a lot of negative PR to keep such a staff working. The company can still support the staff from the background though.

Well it depends on the business and their policy. If they feel the scandal is affecting their image and as well its causing a decline in their sales, then i believe the best thing to do would be to let them go.

Yes of course a staff at any organization should be suspended when they are being faced with sexual scandals until they're very certain that the case is over and the staff is free.

For a big brand, it makes a lot of sense for them to announce publicly the suspension of the staff. This action alone can boost public confidence in the business and increase sales.

if the scandal will affect my business, I will not allow the employee to continue his duty, business is for making money and I wouldn't allow any worker spoil that for me

True, apart from the fact that there is a possibility it might happen again, the image of the business can also be affected. People today won't care if it's just one person, they we simply view the company in general in that light.

I will consider suspending him or her if a scandal occurs since it can greatly damage a business’s reputation. However, if there is no clear evidence of guilt, I will try to give him or her a chance.

It would be better for the staff to stand down and proper investigations done. That would project the business in positive light.
