There are people in India that get medicines from chemists like that for any issue and don;t even check with doctors, I feel they should not do that.

I just take OTC meds such as antihistamine drug like Claritin for my allergy as I sneeze quite often. For minor headaches, I also take Panadol.

The pharmacies here on my place don't sell antibiotics unless there is doctor's prescription. We can only buy over the counter medicine for mild cough and flu.

For over-the-counter medicines, I only acquire paracetamol, but I rarely use it even when I am unwell because I prefer not to rely on other medications.

Not for almost all conditions but for conditions like fever, cough, cold, and diarrhea, I get OTC medicines. I don't buy medicines that require prescriptions.

I think OTC is fine with me. It is because it is allowed to have them.
