We have always preferred down payment. Paying in instalments does have an element of loading it with interest in some cases. In the long run paying in instalments becomes costlier.

Down payment seems to only be an option when we don't have enough funds and you need something as a matter of urgency. Besides that, down payment is the best.

If the installments come with zero percent interest, I will always pay in installments. However, if the installments has interest, I will avoid it.

Why do you delay payments if you already have money? I rather want know how much money I really have. Bills which will come later I consider as already spended money.

I do not think when payment is made in installments it is free of interest. Have you had any experience paying in installments where there is no interest to be paid?

It could be free of interests if you don't take the products home. You can keep the products and pay in installments till you finish paying, you can take the products.

I always prefer down payments to installments. This is because installment often attract interest and it might lead to the accumulation of debts when one fails to pay when one is supposed to.
