Is listening to music can calm oneself?

for me yes whenever i am in stress or in depression i listen to music it give peace

Sureeee, it is. Sometime you will feel the pain like losing someone you love so much in fact youre just fine, but the lyric and music made you felt that way. I still remember when i was a radio announcer and i played one song who tell the story about "not giving up" and after that i said to the listener that no matter what they dealing right now dont give up and choose hope, hang on there, these too shall pass. After that someone called the studio and said "he thanked me because of what i said earlier about not giving up and he had a worst situation and he choose not giving up". That the magic of the song and words.
