On referral program sites, I usually include payment proofs, as proof that the site is legit. So automatically I also tell how much I earn from a site.

In my view first avoid the discussion about exact earning amount if he insist then look at him as who is he, whether a well wisher or somewhat hidden enemy. Because some people causes many problems once they know about your exact earnings.

I think there is no problem if they know what you do to make money with or any of the ways, but they should not know the exact amount you make or all the information for example in which you have invested the money, where you keep it or obvious things of a minimum security.

I think motivation is the only reason why we should let them know about our earnings for them to be determine to also want to earn online
