I used to work in mineral Asia company, we were delivering Talcum powder to our customers those who were using it in different things like paper and pencil making, paint and so many other things. Once by mistake people those who were working under me send chalk powder instead of Talcum when this disclose we immediately correct our mistake and send them right thing on same day.

Yes this would prevent issues like no materials or delay in materials. When we check on time, we can easily make orders on time and get them on time as well. The business would be smooth.
It is not only the materials that you will check before heading to work but most f all the flow of your sales is increasing or decreasing. The cause of that also depends on the quality of materials you dispose of in your business.
You should be able to always gauge how long your supplies would last you as business service provider do that you can make provisions to restock.
