Bitcoin ordinal is a program on the Bitcoin mainnet that allows users to create new tokens or insert images, audio and video per satoshi (smallest Bitcoin unit). Bitcoin ordinal launched on Jan 21, 2023 is still very new but so far more than 170 thousand tokens have been minted.
Unlike the Ethereum blockchain, tokens will always be stored off-chain, whereas on the Bitcoin blockchain, tokens are stored on-chain which will take up space on the blockchain, the more tokens that are created, the more congested the network will be and will be slower.
Personally I don't agree if Ordinal is placed on-chain, because the Bitcoin network will get busier and create congestion on transactions and make transaction fees higher. What do you think, should the ordinal be removed?
