How is 'business English' different from general English? Do you know?

My main take on it, is that in business, there are words you would normally only associate with the job, or running a business. By enlarge, these words wouldn't normally be used in regular conversations outside of being on the job.

I think business English and general English are different in a big way. Business English, is all about communicating effectively in a professional setting while general English is more casual and can vary depending on the context.

In English language, there is what they call registers and the registers are specific gramatical jargons that are used in different kinds of businesses or fields of life. It is different from the standard English.

For me i also agree with this. Business English or business term actually talks about the words or languages used for the business alone or relates to the business it self.

I think General English is more casual. It is used for day to day conversation and involves the use of basic vocabulary. Business English is used as a communication tool in a business setting. Specific terms may be used.

There are English words that are only used in the circle of certain professions. And you have to be a professional in that field unless you would mistake it for the literal meaning.

Personally speaking, people who are in business needs to learn the business terms. I am speaking it for the formal way. For informal way, it is fine to have transactions with layman terms. The most important thing is to close the deal.

For me I think the business language entails some business and professional kind of approach than the general one that may include jokes, fun rhetoric and other styles of communicative phrases.

Business English is very formal and it is connotative in nature. That means the users of the language define the meaning of whatever term they are using based on the context of the usage. Like the word bench as used in legal profession.
