I agree with you. Recently, one of my students online claimed that their company has a budget plan for giving certain things to their clients as souvenirs. I guess they were influenced for working in a foreign company.

When I am still working in an American company, we usually host parties for the clients or visitors. This is a practice that has been doing by the company. I do think that we need to show how the company is welcoming to them.
