It is rare that we see items on sale like buy 2 get 1 free in the mall. Usually, we see them on drinks like milktea. I have purchased buy 1 get 1 free milktea before.
For garments, I only buy pants if they are on sale.

It is a good scheme for buyers to buy. But we have to be vigilant because buying two items could be a doubled price that covers the cost of the other one.

Its pretty hard to find such offers these days, i dont really trust most of these offers though cause most times you are actually paying for all but they make it look like you are getting one free.

I do fall for this type of offer in the past before I realise that nothing is for free you would have paid for the last one without you knowing. Although, it's a good and effective scheme to attract more customers without spending much on advertising

I experienced it by the way. It was a buy 1 take 2 and then when I was in the cashier's counter and pay, I was told that it was a mistake. It's a buy 1 take 1. I was mad, I got back my money that was on her hand and she was shocked to see customers returning the items. They should not fool people.

Offers like “buy one get one free” attract me because I can just purchase one, get the same for free and then gift that to someone. However, “buy two get one free” doesn’t really attract me that much as it’s not so economical and neither is it smart to pile up things that I just don’t need.

What the Cashier did there is not good at all even if I was in your shoes I will also return the item and leave without checking back. This type of offer is a well calculated stuff so there is no way the store will loose, although i don't see how a store/mall will offer buy 1 get 2 for free, it might be a mistake indeed but not a honest one

This is a very old Marketing and selling technique and these days I am smart at whatever I purchase so I compare if I am saving money this way because many times the product is already available at less than 50 % of its MRP so we can get one product at less price

That's true some of the shops here sell groceries at discounted rates. One can save money by buying them from these shops. Most of them are wholesalers. I buy a monthly ration from them and save some money.

This is one of the gimmicks that must be careful with. it is sellers way of luring people to buy what they do not really needs.

Mostly when they are selling like this where they offer one free on purchase of two, they are selling on the maximum retail price and if we can check at other stores or online we can get one product at less than 50% of its MRP so mostly these offers are to lure customers

It is a marketing strategy of business owner but I don't buy things that I don't need.
