I frequently receive emails that say they have videos about me and will make them public if I don't pay them. These are scammers. You should never fall for messages like this one.

I always observed it on Facebook, users used another video owned by others and I reported them to Meta Facebook.

It is bad character on the part of anyone circulating the pics or videos of another person without hus/her permission. It is a litigation matters. That is why most photo sites request copyright on any pics posted therein.

It is stealing the property of others unless permitted or renting that video for a purpose of gaining also. It is an illegal act.

This is not a good act and I condemn every act like this. Why should you take circular video of strangers that you don't even know?

There are lots of videos like that, most of the group of people who usually do this are bloggers, simply cause are in need of a story that would drive traffic, they do not care who gets hurt when they post them.

It's a crime stealing videos of others. The owner may not have idea his video is circulating and the stealer earns from it. It's better to report their acts of stealing.

Yes, I have seen it, one should know what it exposes on the internet so as not to end up like this because if one uploads something to the network, knows that anyone can get hold of such material and use it to their liking, it is important to take this into account before uploading something to the internet, that is why sometimes I wonder because there are so many people uploading nonsense to platforms like tiktok and others.

It is not good to be using people's videos to make money. If you have to do it, you should get the person's consent and expect to pay royalties to the person in the video.

All these things don't happen in some countries. They would sue such a person to court and he would have to pay a huge sum of money as compensation. Even Kim Kardashian was paid for that her video.

That is true. If someone does that to me too, I will sue the person to court because he has no right to do that to me.

The only challenge is that in Nigeria, we were trained to believe that anything goes. If any site hosts someone's video, even if it is a stupid video without permission, the person in the video has a right to sue for copyright infringement.
