I think some of the common mistakes include not knowing enough about the company, criticizing previous employers; dress inappropriately, not asking enough good questions.

One of the biggest mistakes people make during interviews is not dressing well. Interviewers pay so much attention to the dressing of candidates. I know a friend who was qualified for a position but was told by the panel that his dressing is the reason they are not employing him.

Also, some job applicants display negative body language when approaching an interview. You have to exhibit good non verbal behaviors like not sitting till you are told to when you enter the interview hall.

Exhibiting proper manners when applying for job is very important and as it's been said that first impression matters , neglecting proper manners in attitude may give the employer a bad feeling towards you.

It could be terrible. You see some job applicants that don't have self coordination at all. They don't know how to behave, they laugh carelessly. I would just be like these ones are not ready for corporate work.

Any employee who emphasizes his need to earn money from a job he has applied for is making a huge mistake. Employers are not interested in this aspect as it is pretty obvious. Interview candidates should thus focus on demonstrating the value they are bound to bring to a business or organization.

When it comes to interviews alot of employees do fail as they commit a lot of mistakes. They sometimes even criticize or castigate previous employers which is very wrong thing to do

They might lack experience working for corporate job and that could be their first time,because if not so ,they won't be doing that on their first day and even for an interview .

That is why even as a student, you would need to be interning for free so that you build experience and become conversant with the corporate world. It would help with all these interview mistakes.

I will say that one of the mistakes some people make during an interview is something that happens before they come to the interview which is lack of preparation for the interview.

Applicants most times lack the experience of working for corporate jobs and some companies need people with experience. You just have to get this one right too to avoid a disqualification.

Interviews are not about the business or company concerned but about a general questions relating to public affairs. Most mistakes are from the preparation made by the interviewee in terms of dressings, gaits, mode of answering questions.
