Companies paying or not paying interns

When I did my industrial training, I never got paid for it. The only saving grace is that it was a federal government sponsored program and they sent us a small stipend for us several years after.

Looking at it from another angle, a company allowing you to have your internship with them, is actually doing you a favour on its own. If they do not pay, there is notting wrong with that. Most companies here in my country do not pay. It is very few that actually decides to pay on their own.

I have had internship students on my farm and once in a while, I give them something to use and pay transport. I feel it is necessary because one way or the other, they assist me.

It is true that they are not legally bound to pay interns. It depends on the disposition of the bosses. My own boss would never pay an intern.

Most companies just feel like they are giving out necessary skill and don't see the need to pay interns, but they fail to see that interns have the skill too but just lack work experience.

In Croatia we had paid intership with support of goverment. Many comapanys removed start it and even ask to join no matter to experience. It was cheper for them than give regular paycheck.

Some companies pay intern and some do not pay them. I think that companies should pay interns because they are still working for your company, even though they are being trained.

I believe that they are two reasons companies don't pay there interns it's either because they are not financially up for it or they are just plainly stingy I wouldn't want to work for that kind of company though

During my internship, I just got one singular payment that wasn't worth anything. In my country, they don't pay interns.

Paying interns should be made necessary, because most times those interns don't usually have funds to support themselves, at least funds for transportation should not be left out.

It is an ideal think to offer for the interns. It is sad to say that it is not in my country. Even professionals in a medical field were not given any compensations, especially if they are volunteers in the hospitals.

Depends on the company, some companies pay their interns depending on how much work the intern does and the profit of the company.

In my country the interns are being made to pay for the companies for them to be approved on the participation on the internship programs on the companies.
