Ever since the conventional methods of advertising came into evolution, traditional methods of advertising is becoming obsolete.
For instance, billboard advertising is no more giving recognition as it was in the olden days. Erecting billboard posts on the roads has even been considered as hazardous to man safety as it is liable to cause side attraction while driving which may ultimately result into accident.
People are more active on social media. Consequently, companies are using the opportunity to blast their advert to them.

The major disadvantage I noticed with traditional way of advertising was the limit outreach as a lot of people couldn't get to see the advert but that have been removed with social media

I think that depends on your product and your target audience. If you are selling household cleansing products, your target audience should be housewives. In this case, traditional advertising on TV may be appropriate.

I too agree with you on that. The type of advertising will solely depend on the type of the goods and services you are advertising. Some products would require the radio means of advertising to reach its target audience.

The major limitation of traditional advertising methods is in the reach. Like that billboard advertising, if someone doesn't have any business in that area where the billboard is located, that person would never get to see the advert.

Traditional means of advertising like radio are still very much effective. Billboards have a particular target audience. In developing countries, it is still effective as the rate of internet penetration is still low.

The only thing that I can see is the downside of using the flyers in promoting the items to the locals. It is because they are not a good contributor for protecting the environment.

It is always going to be very difficult for your advertisement to reach a lot of people when you are making use of traditional means of advertisement.

You are so right. The geographical locations cannot be reached if incorporating the traditonal methods of promoting. Unless if they are just focusing in their respective locations, then there is no need to be full blast promotion scheme.

There are some disadvantages if you use advertisements/traditional marketing such as requiring high costs such as advertising on radio, roadside billboards, printing brochures, also we will find it difficult to track success using traditional advertising.

It still depends on environment. @Suba has a point with costs. But some of these traditional advertising platforms still have wide reach in some locations. And you would need to consider this when deciding on your advertisement media.

Traditional advertising methods Like the use of billboard isn't ideal for everyone. The issue is that not everyone would see it especially one not plying that area where the billboard is located.

Marketing costs using radio and television will require quite a bit of money. Another weakness of traditional marketing is only one-way communication, no direct interaction from the audience.

You are right rode side belabors have some side effects like causing accidents, and also the side effect of using billboards for advertisements is that you can't explain what your products are and you are limited only to that billboard, and if a person can't read or see then you will not reach to that person.
