Do employees have rights?

I have come across a lot of cases where the employer tends to abuse his or her authority on the workers, they feel cause they pay them hence they have rights over them, personally i feel this is wrong, employees are still humans and they have rights. What's your take on this.

Yes, they do in sane climes. In non sane climes, they don't have rights. And those climes are where unemployment is rife so the employer believes he is doing the employee a favour.

Why not they do have rights. Even human have got some rights whether as a boss or worker and it just be respected

of course, they have a long list of rights, the problem is that most of them are generally not known to us, one should read them but sometimes we don't and ignorance sometimes makes you do things or receive orders that really shouldn't concern you

And sometimes we might even know our rights but can't exercise them because of ignorance or fear.

If this person violates the company's rules and regulations, then he or she needs to receive sanctions for violating them. Human rights is strictly being practiced in my country.

Employees here are protected by the Labor law and they have certain basic rights, including the right to get long service payments, rest days, annual leave, sick leave and maternity leave.

Of course an employee has rights especially to get a salary or wages, the right to receive overtime pay, equal treatment without discrimination, humane working time. Even so, in private companies there are some leaders who are arrogant, rude, etc. but we also have the right to resign and look for work elsewhere.

Employees have rights in the company even though the company is not for them because it won't be nice to treat them anyhow because they are employees

To protect both the organization and the employee, management should also ensure that the organization adheres to local laws which provide additional rights to employees, including the right to be free from discrimination on the basis of race, gender and other protected classes.

Why employees don't have rights?. Even animals do have rights. Every labours employers must succumb to labours acts which stipulate the rights of employees.

Employees are the main power of the company they work so company move forward lest the Management not work on that level. The employee need to get the respect.

Exactly, the best thing is to know what they are and act accordingly so that they do not treat you improperly and lose the fear of acting

That'd the truth their rights should be protected because they are humans that needs to be respected as well.

The employees have their own right and that is why there is a department in the company that oversee the welfare of the employee.

Why not they do in Nigeria. And I know in sane climes, they do have rights. And those countries know that the employed should be give their rights as humans.
