I must admit that I had bad blood with my ex-boss before working as an ESL Teacher online. Prior to this job, I used to work in one of the local government agencies in my city. I was assigned with a boss and team. We are all assigned to work in a field. I cannot stand working with my boss because he is so incompetent. There is no second of quitting the job for me.

They are fearable and wield too much power to decide the fate of their workers. The personal welfare of their workers is none of their concern.

I think it was a big concern before because he is working with us as his team. It affected all the operations because of his existance at that time. That is why it is not good to hire a superior because of nepotism.

It is not necessary necessarily this. You know what they say about familiarity bringing contempt. When you respect yourself, your boss would also respect you.

I am currently working for myself at the moment so i do not have a boss i am under. Back then i had a good relationship with my boss though but there where times when we had some clashes though.

You said it right. As for me, I usually set boundaries when working with the top management and colleagues. If I am at work, it is plainly work. I try my best not to be engaged with social activities with them after work.
