Do you only invest on registered investments?

When investing, do you take your time to find out of the investment it self or the company the investment goes true is registered? And if no would you still invest with them if the reward is high or would you look for another investments? There are certain times most fake companies or organizations go to extra miles to make things look legit, how do you fish them out before investing?

I invest in the stock market through a registered broker. When I am investing online, I invest through registered investment platform, I always check these platforms are registered with the local authorities.
