When I was a kid, I told a lie to my father. I was so afraid to get whipped hehehe. Our big antique jar was broken and it was me the culprit. We all assembled in front of my father. And it was my turn to answer, I said "No":LOL:But I was shaking in fear. My dad is a military official and we were always sanctioned with a militaristic style . I felt so sorry for the antique jar. I was young at that time age 11. What about you?

This of lying to not be punished especially by my father, I did too when I was a child / teenager. Today, however, at the age of 48, if I make a mistake of any kind, it's only right that I take my responsibilities in this regard.

Note: I think I understand what it means to have a military father. A friend of mine, now in her eighties, said the same thing about punishment when she was a child. Her father was a Marshal of the Italian Finance.

Actually I cannot avoid to tell a lie to my family. I have a young niece pregnant at 19 and she's now living with a guy at her age graduating and I'm sending my niece financial support because I pity her and I love my niece. It's a circumstance that leads her to be morally wrong. My sisters don't want me to send my niece financial support. What shall I do with my money when there's a niece in need of it badly. I don't understand them it's my money not theirs. I better tell a lie to avoid grudges from them.

I avoid to tell a lie, whether I will get some sort of punishment or not. The important point is when we started telling lie it becomes part of our life and when people found us as a lier then they started avoiding us.
