Do you think home service is overpriced and a rip off?

Have you had to request for home service for any service you usually get? It maybe barbing, laundry or any other service at all. Have you noticed that they prices of home service is always way higher than getting the service in the vendor's shop?
Sometimes, they are three times higher. Why is it always that expensive? As a service, would you charge like that?

Home services are deemed expensive because the service provider has to commute from their workplaces to your home. So the inconveniences caused in the process is translated to Monetary value and it must be paid inclusive in the service. That's why there is a rise in the prices.

For me, I don't think it's a rip off or too expensive, because the service provider has to put into consideration the time he or she will spend at your place rendering service to you, the amount for transportation, energy spent, all those will accumulate for the price he or she will charge you.

You have a point with the time. Time is a major factor in production. The person would have to spend time to transport himself to and fro your place. He might have had a customer to attend to that time.

It takes much more effort and cost to deliver a service at home. And they have to incorporate this into the pricing. When a barber does it on the shop, it is different from when he does it at the home of a customer.

You have to consider what it will cost them to come over to your home to render their services. Ranging from transportation fare to feeding and others, everything sum up makes it a little more expensive than going to their business place.

I think it's understandable that home service is more expensive, taking into account that the service provider has to take the time to commute to your place to provide the service. As a matter of fact, other than cleaning service and household helper, other home service is not that common here.

I ordered for a home service for my haircut. I paid almost double of what is charged in the shop. That's because he virtually moved his shop to my house. He came with all his equipment.

Yes for one to move their shop to our house and leaving working for other customers and with all the necessary working tools one need to pay more to cover for it

Though there is every possiblity that most of them who offer home services might be over pricing it but then again you are not just paying their transportation, for them to render theirs services in your house is not really convenient for them so you are paying for their convenience as well.

Truth be told it would be a lot cheaper when you go yourself and get things done, but then again, you are not just paying for the services when you ask for home delivery, you are also paying for their transportation and as well inconvenience. Cause they must have left other clients at the office to attend to you.

Homeservices is overpriced and it is not a rip-off. It is not easy for people to come to your home and offer services. You need to understand that they may be missing some customers because of that.
