Does social media marketing actually support offline or online commerce?

It supports both. You can include your physical shop address and advertise to people located nearby or advertise generally get customers, collect payment via your website and dispatch orders using delivery companies.
It actually works for both as it is a from of advertising for both offline and online types of business. Social media advertising helps online business reach places or people the business owner might not be able to due to geographical boundaries.

With this current situation, online marketing is the best option.
Whether online or offline, as a business person you can use social media to generate a lot of sales.

The funny thing is no one buys within my city. That is the reason why I usually promote my Shopee links on different groups in the Philippines through Facebook. Most of the clients who bought are from Visayas and Mindanao places.
