I think that the results and the effort are almost always correlated, so the results it offers is the main point, although the effort is also important, the following would be its validity for teamwork

I would look at the result achieved as well as the efforts put in. If a person has tried his/her best but the result is not that satisfactory, I won't blame him/her. Failure to achieve the desired result may be due to some external factors.
