I feel it's one of the underused business ideas; if one is severely and interested in this business, one can make good money. Recently I saw this as a start-up idea in Shark Tank India and the person did manage to get a good offer from the sharks and it actually is a profitable business if you can correlate with bigger junk dealers.

it is a a popular business idea In.my locality here. Some move from place to place, home to home to ;get used or scrapped items you can make good money from this.

There are people here doing house to house buying of scrap materials or stuff They buy by kilo and sell to a warehouse by kilo. They earn money though sounds laborious. It's better that way than suffer hunger.

This is a very lucrative business if you have a means of getting a lot of scraps to sell which I have seen a lot of people that employ some manual laborers who helps to pack a lot of scraps for them to sell and pay them minimally.

In my place scrap buyers buy scraps at a low price but sell almost double to scrap warehouse but it's the means of their survival. Who takes big advantage, the scrap warehouse owner.

It is actually something that I've done when I was still a teenager because it was very easy for me to gather a lot of irons and park it until they were big enough for me to sell it.

I totally agree with you on this earning as a scrap dealer might not be the first thing that comes to mind but it can be quite a lucrative business. In todays world recycling and sustainability are gaining more importance which can work in favor of a scrap business.
