My plan is to buy the things I want to cook this week including meat and store it in my fridge because it will be very expensive during the Christmas week

You can save cost by setting up a budget for the expenses you are likely to incurr during this December. Don't spend unnecessarily and always go for commodities that have substitutes in order to cut the cost.
