How employment is gotten in Nigeria

Ironically, it is believed that qualification is the key determinant in the nature of employment. It is not like that in Nigeria. You find graduates employed in different fields different from their respective discipline. How can a teaching graduate be working in banks as cashier?.

I feel that is what is causing a lot of graduates to be jobless, but thank God for some online jobs that people can do to make money. Some of the online jobs are even paying well than the physical office work

This is really sad for our country Nigeria. jobs is no longer by merit but by connection. You must need to know people in high places get especially top politicians or nothing

I am not sure in your country. In my country, we do have people like this, too. For me, it is a matter of being well-skilled to particular jobs despite graduating different fields. I am one of them.

It's not always the case because there are very few lucky ones that could get job easily without any help from any Godfather.

It's a very difficult thing to get an employment in Nigeria. However,you need to have alot of connections and money that can enable you to have a bargaining power for seeking out of the employment.

Yes, it's true, there are also many companies like that, only willing to hire workers recommended by company insiders. If a foreigner applies despite good and suitable qualifications, they will not be accepted.

Is this a collective lampoon?. I have come across a lot of people that got jobs or merit here. What you need to understand is that if you want to get good jobs you must be able to network. That is how it also works in other parts of the world but I am not disputing the fact that there are corrupt people in every country.

It's very sad to know that you need to know peaple who are higher to accually get a job it's very unfortunate in my country I see a lot of homeless peaple around the streets and it makes me incredibly sad

I think most developing countries use the same strategy. This is because the levels of unemployment are extremely high and the crooks take advantage of this predicament to robe of the innocent hard earned money without giving them the jobs.

Getting certain jobs can be very challenging in some countries but if you are a student I will always advise you to network. When you network and do your industrial training in some places getting jobs will be easier for you.

In Nigeria it is who knows you not who you know. If you do not have connections, you might not be able to get the best. These days they are not after your qualifications but rather who is backing you.

I think the situation is not very different from what is happening in my country. I think African countries have decided to do things in the most weird way that isn't acceptable anywhere in the world.
