How long are you willing to fail before you succeed.

A friend of mine was asked this question in an interview, the interviewer asked how many times he was willing to fail in the job before he finally gets it right and succeed. His reply was that he was willing to fail as many times as possible until he gets it right, that he would never give up. Obviously he said this to let the interviewers know he is not the time to give up easily but he lost the job. The reason was that the company does not want someone who would waste their time and resources failing when they need positive results as fast as possible.
What do you think about this question and what's your take on it?

I think there shouldn't be a specific number of times one has to fail before he or she gets it right, if there are senior colleagues around you that do the same thing you do, the best thing is to learn from them, learn from their mistakes, failures etc.

The length of time a person is willing to fail before succeeding can vary greatly from person to person. Some individuals may give up after a few failures, while others may be persistent and continue trying for an extended period of time.

There is no timeframe for failure because no one would want to fail but it's better to gain experience about an enterprise so that you will not fail.
