There are many businesses that tend to ask for the phone number of the customers. They get the number and then they start advertising on Whatsapp. of course this may require the consent of a person.

You can only make use of Whatsapp to advertise your business if you have lots of contacts. Without contacts it would not be effective running your ads on the platform.

I have never use the Whatsap messenger app to make advertisements with. This is simply because I don't see it effectively as a mode of advertising or any good adnetwork at all.

Yea it depends on the kind of service you are doing though, then again advertising or promoting with Whatsapp can only be effective if you have a lot of contacts.
