1) The person would ask for your mobile number. No one asks for mobile number to send you money.
2) The alert you receive won't show the correct balance in your account. That's why its important to know your last balance and reconcile it with the one you just received.

And this is why a lot of people prefer to see the credit alert before they give you their products because they may not see you again

Nowadays don't believe on phone calls personally go to your bank and ask about your account balance because I have seen that people make fake phone calls from registered bank's landline numbers as they may connect their pin into phone wire.

Every businessman should not be looking at an alert before they confirm the legitimacy of the transfer. They should go straight to the mobile applications to check if that transaction is really genuine.

In my country, GCash cash in is becoming a new way to scam innocent souls. They are going to send phishing text messages that a victim won a lottery or something. The catch is to transfer some money before claiming the whole jackpot prize of money.

The only way to know is to check account balance. The fake money will not reflect in the account. Now, once I receive alert, i will immediately check my account balance.

Thanks for the update. There have been lots of cases about people getting fake alerts form customers, it is usually common amongst POS agents. There have been cases where they dont even ask for their numbers.

Funds can be transferred through a mobile number. This is a popular way of fund transfer in our home country. If you use Binance, you can send crypto to another Binance user through a mobile number.

Every businessman should not be checking their bank app and not just looking at an alert before they confirm the legitimacy of the transfer. The bank app will give you the right information

This is because crypto is recognized in your country. I really love that method if transferring crypto. In my country, cryptocurrency has been banned and it is illegal. So that is not possible.

I was not just referring to crypto, if you perform transactions with banks, you can use the recipient number or give your own number for fund transfer. Sending money via mobile number is a popular way to send and receive money.

In my country, we don't use mobile numbers to send or receive money. The only thing we use is account number. The intention of a suspected fraudster asking for your number is to use it and generate the fake transaction alert.

This thing is very common in my country. However the fake transfer the message notification would come with the phone number of the sender.
The original transfer involves the coming of the name of the Mobile money name but not digits for sure.

For me when I get an alert, I try to to tally the balance with what it should be if the amount isn't correct then I know that the alert is fake
The fake alert guys are getting smarter everyday and would not even include the balance. The best thing is to always use your bank app or any official channels from the bank to confirm balance.

I know someone who is very good at making the fake alert but I always wonder how the Money receiver will be able to receive that fake alert in our phone. We just have to be careful of these scammers
