We have the same internal systems as animals. The animals also can think like we humans can do. The only difference they have is they have fewer brains than us that's the reason they are used by human beings.
Humans and animals both eat, sleep, think, and communicate.
The main differences between humans and animals is our ability of complex reasoning, complex language, our ability to solve difficult problems, and introspection.
We have spoken language, which is absent in animals. I mean we can speak and they cannot, this is the main difference. We have the same common ancestors, this is the similarity.
One major similarity is that we are all living creatures, I believe this is the most basic similarity. While the major difference is our level of intelligence and understanding.
