I do agree with that. There are some practices or cultures that we need to apply with our clients. Some clients having Dutch is not the right thing to do. I believed in China, the person who invited is the payer of the bill.If s(he) is my client, I would pay the bill. However, if s(he) insist to split, I respect his/her opinion.
