Yes it is very much needed, this is to create consistency in terms of quality. I have experienced cases where i bought the same products on different occasions and the qualities where completely different. This is very bad for business.
It is very safe for a firm to establish quality control measures in their factory. It helps in ensuring that the quality of goods produced are of acceptable standard.
